Zulmira Tavares Pimentel Machado,74, of Seekonk, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 27, 2025. Zulmira was born in Saint Michael, Azores to the late Manuel Jr and Maria Jacinto Tavares Pimentel on April 21, 1950. She worked as a textile worker at Providence Braid Company for over 34 years. She enjoyed cooking and listening to portuguese music while baking cakes. Zulmira loved to cook amazing meals, and she always made sure everyone left her house full and happy. Devoted Catholic parishioner of Saint Anthony Catholic Church of Pawtucket RI. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is wrapped in the arms of the Lord. We all love you and will miss you forever.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years marriage Joseph Raposo Mederios Machado and together, they shared a beautiful life, raising their family in Pawtucket RI, The love they shared was a cornerstone of Zulmira's life, and she carried that love with her until her final days. She was the beloved mother of her two sons Michael Joseph Machado and wife Kimberly of Seekonk MA, Tony Joseph Machado and wife Tiffany of Rehoboth MA. Also her daughter Mary Ann Smith (Machado) and her late husband Jason Smith of North Smithfield RI, 11 grandchildren Cheyenne, Makayla, Skylar, Alexis, Caydence, Jayden, Sophia, Chloe, Abigail, Michael Jr, Giovanni; two siblings Pedro Pimentel and wife Ana of Pawtucket RI, late sister Edwina and surviving husband Joseph Mederios of Pawtucket RI.
Zulmira’s memory will be honored in celebration of life service at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI. Visitation Hours will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Anthony's Church, 32 Lawn Ave Pawtucket, RI 02860 on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10:00am to follow Zulmira will be laid to rest at Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum of St. Ann Cemetery 73 Church Street Cranston, RI 02920.
